why is vlc player on pc asking for username and password to stream,yet wen i put the right ones in it wont accept,never had this problem before,baffled,stream from the dream obviously

Are you using root and dreambox mate ?
You haven't changed password at some time have you ?

still the same,connects with that on db edit

I've never had that problem mate.
I allways use vli v1.0.5 as the later ones can give you problems streaming. Anything later than 1.0.5 won't work on my Vu duo.
