    hi
i have a different ip address for pc and router but after reading you post i changed ip for router to same as pc and also got a green line saying all was good . All i can suggest is when you scan for router address make sure the scan completes as your router may be the very last one the scan finds.

not an expert but if DHCP is enabled on your router then it should give a different ip address for each device that connects to it.
The ip address of you dreambox should be the same as the pc and router except for the number after the last dot.

The first 3 bytes will be the same so 123.456.78, as you put it. It is only the last byte that alters.

          Probably you will have

192.168.0 as the first 3 then
          192.168.0.1 for the router
192.168.0.XXX for anything else on the network

Post the actual numbers, they are private anyway, it doesn't give anything away.

If you have Dhcp set to off its alot easier.

That way you can choose the ip address of the Dreambox.

It will have to look similar but change the last 2 digits, this way you wont get any conflictions.

With Dhcp enabled on you get a different ip all the time which might have a conflict with other internet appliances like laptops, ipod touch etc.

If your router says 192.168.2.2,make the Dreambox something like 192.168.2.100 change the last digits to what you like.
I choose a high number cos other things in my house take up the lower numbers, this way o know im safe with the ip address.

                Andy.

Just copied this from my netgear router. If you have similar settings it might help.

                    Good luck

                    Address Reservation
When you specify a reserved IP address for a PC on the LAN, that PC will always receive the same IP address each time it accesses the DHCP server. Reserved IP addresses should be assigned to servers that require permanent IP settings.
                    To Reserve An IP Address:
                    1. Click the Add button.
                    2. Select the radio button of the Computer you wish to add from the Address Reservation Table.
                    3. If the Computer is not on the Address Reservation Table, enter the IP Address, MAC Address, and Device Name of the computer you wish to add.
                    4. Click the Add button when finished.
