Yes defo the the tuner mate, Ive run various tests FTA, FTV, HD, SD all started breaking up on new box, I only had it running a hour or so yesterday as was at work last night.
Powered box up today and ran ok for a hour or so and then started glitching, flicked around on other channels fta, hd etc and all the same, tried second dish as I have two feeds into my house, 1 from my big dish and 1 from sly dish, made no difference.
Put my other dm800 back and all is fine, all channels spot on.
Have emailed him, see what he says, its no big deal as I still have other boxes I can use.
Have also had the cover off the box to make sure tuner has not come loose or anything, but all looks good.
I work with the old man on my days off, hes a aerial/sat engineer, so on the signal side of things I am pretty sure my setup is bang on, as all set with proper sat meter
and using good equipment Inverto ultra lnb etc...Comment

Hi Mate,
I may be the tuner ok. I may work fine until it gets heated up.
That is why I 'soak test' all my repairs in the workshop for as long as possible before returning to the owner. Remember the old SKY boxes. When their tuners went faulty they would sometimes work ok until they got heated up. Some type of dyndrite or chemical action happened inside the tuner IC.

Ok everyone, I think Ive got it sorted after alot of testing and messing around, basically the tuner seems to have a very sensetive line in, i found if I just touched the coax it broke the picture up.
In the end I kept on making off the F connecter core length untill I got the picture stable while moving the coax around.
Last night it was driving me mad has I know my setup on the signal side is spot on, I was watching a film and noticed every time the missis walked across the room, the picture broke up, so I made up a new patch cable around 23:00
stuck that in and still the same, so like I said just kept on making off the F connecter time and time again with different core length sticking out untill hey presto got it stable.
Touch wood it seems to have cured it, it must not have been making contact properly inside the tuner and for some reason seems to have a very fine line between contact and no contact.
Have never come across a tuner connecter this sensetive before, have defo learned its one to check in the future.
Thanks to everyone for all your sugestions and help, panic over !

Good to hear you sorted out your problem.
Had similar problem last week on a DM500. Box could not see any signal. When checking out the dish connection at the receiver end the pic returned. I suspected the f connector so I made off a new one (snap and seal type). Pic returned ok but when I changed channel signal disappeared again. I then discovered that by removing the sat connection and re applying it to the box picture would be restored. I used my spectrum analiser to try and see what was happening as I suspected a switching problem with the LNB. In the end after about an hour I found the problem. Go on have a guess. ???????????????????????.
No you are wrong. No that's not it either.
The external 12V power was delivering 29V (yes 29V DC) to the box. I don't know how it lasted as it was plugged into this psu for 2 days. Normally the two electrolytic's in the receiver pop if the psu over volts.
Lesson learned. Always check the 12V supply, just in case.

Tony - yaoxin corp
Hi
i ordered a new 800hd last week from Tony in china at Yaoxin corp and it was here within a wekk by DHL. the current price including shipping was $208 usd which, when i paid via paypal, equated to ?132.91. Not a bad deal really. you can call him via skype or drop him an e-mail and he'll get back to you sharpish with the current price. Everything is in fine working order except for a bloody noisy fan. i understand this is a common prob and i'll be removing the irritant tonight having already taken delivery of a usb cooler.
hope this helps answer your question.
