Distributor Sapphire Media International has announced the launch of a new Hustler branded HD adult channel which will also bring 3D content. The company in addition confirmed its commitment to the HD and 3D formats for its VOD service.

Hustler HD/3D will launch in March 2011 on the Hotbird satellite with a wide range of HD content, including the best-selling material from Hustler?s library. The channel will also have access to some high profile 3D productions such as the parody This Ain?t Avatar XXX and Hustler?s soon to be released This Ain?t Ghostbusters XXX 3D as well as Sapphire?s own in-house 3D product. The company will be working with distributors to showcase the 3D product as the 3D TV market grows.

Stephanie Murdoch-Meyer, head of sales and distribution at Sapphire, said in a statement, ?We have had a lot of success with our existing HD and 3D offerings on our VOD service and now feel the time is right for us to launch a similar linear channel. The market for HD and now 3D is growing rapidly and our customers want the range of content, the brands and the service that only Sapphire Media are able to offer available. Top stars, top directors and the highest quality productions are sure to garnish high buy rates.?

Digiquest Electronics Limited will be handling the exclusive smartcard distribution of the channel across Europe.
