I cannot help but agree with Renwich. If the downloaded image is in .zip or .rar archive format, then you MUST extract it first, prior to flashing with DreamUP!!

You need the image to have it's native file extension of .img for this exercise. For Commando, this will always be a 7.75MB Flash w/o Bootloader image. Images from other sources will be a lot smaller, apparently...

But there again, those images will be carrying the deadweight of the /var_init folder down there in the the squashfs r/o root partition. Check out how much FREE space you have in the r/w JFFS2 /var partition afterwards, with a Telnet df command. You'll be surprised...

The (fairly) fully-loaded Commando gives you in excess of over 3MB in there, even when certain (ahem!) educational items might be added. Other images? Well, you be the judge.

      Cheers- AL

Im having a problem unzipping the image files to do the flash. Im using the trial version of winzip and keep getting error messages when I try and unzip the image files. Ive opened "other" zipped files no problem it seems im only having problems with these image files..... any ideas ?
