Adding a mounted drive

I have tried everything I can think of to mount a drive to my DM500S and still haven't been able to mount a thing.

I've tried how to guides, but although the pictures are not remotely close to my screen set up, I have tried to decipher them as best I can, and to no avail.

I'm running OpenPLI at present, Jade3 previously without success... Can anyone help with this matter?

Just to clear up what services I have used NFSdream/NFS, even tried in CIFS mode.
NFSDream always says box is busy when I try mounting from PC.

Nevermind I sorted it, now just to try and work out how to record... I searched through the forum and found the guide.
However it says use the blue button to record, my blue button just brings up the plug in menu.

Am I missing a plug in?
