500hd glitch

My hd channels are on 90ish signal strenth but the hd
glitches a lot, ordered an amp but not arrived yet. My
question is can i change or set anything on my receiver
settings to help with this.

this method reportedly working on clones with glitch issue , worth a try i guess , not tested by myself , cut+pasted from another inferior forum

Change tone amplitude of tuner. Telnet to your box, and enter the following command... this should show you what your box is currently on.

cat /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude
Then to change it enter:

echo X > /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude
Where the 'x' is, enter a value from 1 to 10... start at 1 and work your way up untill one works (if it works). Then save it to /etc/init.d/bootup so it will execute at startup.
