You have to Upgrade the Bootloader first before you can Flash the image just to be on the safe side, Flash Bootloader the same way you flash an Image

I'm in the same boat with this one. I need to upgrade my bootloader (clone) from ssl76B to ssl84B. Could someone please just confirm the procedure, do I flash the bootloader first and then just flash the image on top or do I have to reboot after flashing the bootloader to 'make the bootloader active' and then flash the 84B image?.

      Any assistance gratefully acknowledged.

When flashing by Webif flash the relevant bootloader first do not reboot the receiver when it asks you too, Open another Webif and then flash the image relevant to the bootloader you just flashed then reboot the receiver

Will the second Webif opened to flash the image use the original loader ip address, I would have thought perhaps this might have changed with the new bootloader flashed. By avoiding rebooting though as you mention I assume it would not yet be active, is this the case.

Sorry if I'm getting a bit deeper here I just want to avoid any mishaps, and I appreciate the help.

what ever the IP address of the 800HD is at the time of the bootloader flash will be exactly the same as when you open a second flash window

Thanks digicon that's very explanatory, there are lots of tutorials on flashing images but not too much on precisely flashing bootloaders, hope this also helps others in the community.
