How to reset PIN

Guys,

i just got hold of a DM600, it is working fine. The only prob is that the setup is pin protected, is there anyway i can find what the pin is or reset this.

Hi smokey, try this
Here's a handy tip for anybody who has forgotten their pin code for parentall/setting lock.
Go to Tuxbox Commander,
Go to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma.
Go to a file called config.
Press 3 to view.
Look for the lines.
i:/elitedvb/pins/parentallock=00000123
i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=00000123
These are hex numbers.
Open your Windows calculator in Scientific mode,
Click on Hex,enter the value minus the zeros in front of them,
Click on Dec and that's your pin number.

I can't get to the tuxbox commander..

Hi bud,
Use dcc and ftp to your box, hopefully password hasn't been changed.
User name: root
Password: dreambox
Look for the same files as above and on the last config. file, right click and view and look for the pin lines.

i don't know what the IP address is set.? how would i find that out.?

Hi mate,
Are you hooked up to a wireless router, if you are log in and look up attached devices, you'll find the addy of your dreambox.

Seems to me that its not the pin you need but the dreambox password. You could re-image the box and erase the password otherwise you are stuck.
