    rf modulator and dm500 problem

got myself an rf modualtor from maplin.

had it set up with my dreambox but couldnt recieve any picture so i tried it with another satellite box and didnt receive picture either.

on the other sat box there was a menu option to set the default rf channel, which was 39, so i set the modulator to ch39, and scanned the tv to ch39 and it worked.

so i tried again with the dreambox but still couldnt get signal through, and cant seem to find any menu option to set the rf channel.

has anybody else had trouble doing this or can anyone give me a few pointers?

The DM500 doesnt have any rf out options to choose from,i've got my 800 running with a digital modulator and it comes tru on channel 58.
Just go tru all the channels and itll turn up alright.

the only modulators i have got to work with a dream box is the labgear ones

      Labgear MOD111 R.F.Modulator

i also tried the maplins ones and many other before finding this one that works great on the 500-s

when i tried the maplin one i got a very very dark picture and half sound and full sound and no pic at all its as if the scart output is not powerful enough to power it i read somewhere about modding ones that dont work with some sort of resistor but never divulged further into it .

yeah i got the same as you, an outline of a picture but thats it.

i luv the dreambox but there seems to be a lot its not compatibile with. i've already went through 4 different usb>serial adaptors and still have found one that works
