Hi everyone as title says total newbie to sat and 500s I have setup a 1 metre motorised dish and am expecting dreambox this week .Ijust need some general do s and dont s so ni dont brick my box thanks Alloby.

Pretty strait forward, read the sticky's and use the " search " feature on the sat, there for a reason bud, if anyhow after that you do get stuck, Juts start a thread up and I'm sure someone here at DK will be happy to help you out.
