No LOCK and SYNC

    Hello everyone,

I've recently bought a clone dm500s, this one

I have a medium dish with a monoblock(astra&hotbird). I also have a cheap FTA decoder and everything works fine on there.
So I turned my dm500s on and set it up, but I don't get lock en sync. SNR is 63% en AGC is 70% en BER is always 0%. I have tried mess around with the dish but no luck.

Yesterday I flashed my dm with pli jade(pli-Jade-dm500-20090627-6494.img) with telnet. And same thing, I dont get lock en sync .

I don't get it, why the FTA decoder works and my dm500s doesn't. Can someone help me?

Get a sat beeper from ebay mate. Also look on here for line of sight.

Looks like there is no connection between the dish and the box with snr being 63%. Check ends again.

Alos when you get line of sight. pick a point to focus on and aim for that, then move dish left right and up down, ever so slighty. Keep the box on sat find and get someone to watch the screen if out of eye sight.

        First, thanks for replying

The dish is obviously in the good direction, otherwise I can't watch with the FTA decoder. Plus it's on one single sat.

Someone said that maybe the tuner is bad or dead. But I did some aluminium in ANT INPUT and the SNR and AGC are both 85+% and BER still 0%. Can't be that the tuner is dead, I think. But still no check on lock and sync... it makes me crazy

          sounds like the connections then.

I had a guy who used a freesat box and worked but when he plugged it in to a dm500 he was getting out 63%.

So a simple trim and tidy up of the cable sorted the problem. Make sure there is no loose wire etc.

Strip it all back and redo end.

i had a similar problem being that i got strong signal on one box but a weak one on the other.

it wasnt that the tuner was dead, just obviously not as strong as the other box so after trying a lot of things i cut the end of my cable, stripped it back, wrapped some of the copper round the wire, put f-plug back on and made the copper pin a wee bit longer than had before, then pushed and screwed it in tight as i could, and it worked
