DM500-s with Pli jade help

Hi, my sister just got the db500-s installed from sum sat guy, charged 170pound and he said he wud have to update it every 6months charging 60pound, what does he mean by this? The box has the pli jade image released 2009, cnt I update it myself and why did he charge 170pound for, the box on ebay is like 70pound ermmm, I'm getn sat from 28.2e astra 2a\2b\2d

Basically your sister bought the box and a 6 month sub to his server that is where the extra cost came from, and every 6 months he is charging your sister ?60 to stay connected to the server. Is your sister happy with the way the channels are clearing? does she have much freezing/glitching? If not and she is happy then no real harm done except she was charged about ?50 to much.
And you can update it yourself if you want to and tell this sat guy to clear off.

Buy the box off ebay for ?70, Google cardsharing and spend the next 6 months gaining the knowledge that the guy is charging your sister fo so that you can tell him to take hike.

So my dreambox is connected to his server,nd all the channels im viewing is through his sub? How does he control this he just turns it off from his side and then have to call him?

Where can I start I wanna learn how to update the box my self
Create my own sub?
There is freezing sumtyms nd the box mutes it self pictute quality aint that good aswell

Do as suggested and ask him for a refund, or a partical refund, tell him there is glitching and the picture is freezing, the freezing is usually caused by having a bad server or his server is over subscribed.

will i get the same channels if i do it myself, do i need a sky sub or any subscription? Am I currently sharing his channels fru his dm500s sorry for asking noob questions

You can get the same channels if you do it yourself and you do not need any sly subscription, all you need to do is sub to a good decent server if you are not happy with his service. Give me a few minutes and I will send you a PM to a good sharing site.
