NEW TO SAT

Hi all, as my intro stated, im very familiar with the cable dm's, but not too hot on the sat side. getting a 500-s tomorrow and would like to know in advance if i need anything. im just going to be hooking it up to an old $ly dish for now for free sat purposes. will i need any extras?

Not if all you want to do is watch the free to air on 28.2 (Sky).

Its pretty much plug and play m8.

Select fixed dish, select sat and let it scan.

There alot of other things though you can do though. like mount to network comp, stream to pcs etc. (you may already know this and much more)

you're right, I am aware of the wonders of dreambox. just getting into sat side now and moving in a couple of months so dont want to sort out a new dish yet just to take it down again. thanks for your reply
