    Dreambox Green Light

Hi-I took a chance and bought a faulty Dreambox DM500S that I thought might be fixable via reflashing or Jtag. The symtom is that the box has the green light on constantly and does not respond to the remote or standby button. I've flashed it 10 times or so with Dreamup (several versions) and the box is recognised and flashes OK. Other symtoms are that the ethernet connection does not work.

Is there anything else I can try to identify the fault or fix it?

    The power supply is 12v/2.5A

I have got a DM500V8 box with a similar problem,I flashed it using old version of dreamup using pli image flashing was successful, when you power up the box the green pli screen comes up then a box comes up to set up the box but the remote does nothing and the green light is on all the time.
    Any ideas Guys?

the green light should be on all the time it just flickers when you use the remote , have you tried a different image , the dreamup on my siggy works the 500s , although it sounds bad tbh good luck . check the batteries

Thanks MTV1 but tried the image and dreamupon your signature and still the same. It seems like hardware. Anyone know of any common hardware faults that could cause this?

when you flashed the box did you flash erase before flashing ,that box has a small memory and so cant hold multiple flashes si i suggest you try a flash erase .

when you open dreamup look just above where you see flash and you should see flash erase (click on it to erase the image ) you need to do that for every time you flashed and then try flashing the box again as normal and see if it helps .

you can download a dreamup version that works fine on a dm500s from the last link of my signature area ,there is also an image in there if you want it .
i love it when a dreambox comes together.
