Personally, I think PLi Jade 3 is the best. It has cams on blue panel (unlike gemini now). I also like the interface/epg.

Pli Jade 3 or OpenPli Maxvar, both identical and as mentioned blue panel works and you can get a 3 day working EPG.

got any tutorials on how to get this working, I assume EPG is saved to an network mount

Openpli maxvar or commando 14.x are good images. Jade is really old now still stable though.

Nah..on a maxvar image, you can 2-3 days EPG downlaoded to the boxes internal memory in /tmp.

Generally it's not that reliable, can sause sluggish reponse and box crashes due to too much memory memory utilisation.

Commando 14 is the bees knees the best ive used so far and the EPG is amazing.

is there a option on maxvar image instead of 2 of 3 days to do smaller epg like 1 day or 6 hours to make it less sluggish? and does the epg work on all the networks?

I always found it more reliable/stable storing epg data in /tmp than on a network mount on my old dm500 running openpli...
