most stable image on dm500

i was having probs with my box freezing and hanging on my dm500. so i brought a new 1 as the 1 was pretty old.

on my new 1 im using darkstar 2 but i still get get freezes and hangs has anybody has had this with this image?

if any1 can recomened the best stable image?

check your ecm times! example if your ecm time is 0.100 your screen will NOT freeze.

check you coxial cable is connected properly

dont download stuff music,videos etc

no its nothing to do with ecm times its the box hangs and becomes no responsive seems to have the prob more on certain sats, i look for a most stable image for my dm500?

Try OPENPLI maxvar, tried various images on my DM500 when i had it and found this the best, most stable out the lot...

I've been using Nabilo DM500 V08 MaxVar on different boxes without any problems. Should give it a go also.

the jade 2 maxvar is a image pli release
the openpli is a nightly build image

on Nabilo DM500 V08 MaxVar press info/info this will show ecm time

what ive noticed from running a dreambox off a 3g dongle is
sky glitches due to the type of encryption it has which is videoguard (news datacom)

where as cyfra+ and polsat have sec/mediaguard
and it glitches very rarely

ive noticed that if ya disconnect the lan cable from box the sky stops instantly
whereas the cyfra and polsat last a about ten seconds

so sky is a lot more time critical and glitches more

PLi jade is quite old now, isn't developed anymore.

OPENPLi is open source, and new images are generated daily and contain changes/updates, and to quote OPENPLi...

"This daily changes could be made due to minor or major changes in the earlier image. This could be as a solution of a earlier bug, an added feature or an update of some data like channelsettings, camversions and every other update you can imagine"

Though to be fair i think this applies more to E2 images than it does E1.
