DMBox 500 V8 - Picture dissapears and presented with blank screen

    Hi there,

I don't know if its the right forum to put this in so I apologise in advance.

I am a DMVBox 500 V8 and I am having issues with the picture. I have a valid subscription.

The picture freezes and dissapears after 30mins~ viewing. If I change channels the picture and sound are not there.

The issue only occurs with premium channels and not FTA channels.

I have between 85-99% SNR, 84% AGC and 0 Error rate.

I have the box connected to the internet via Powerline ethernet adapter. I have 8120 kbps speed. Its connected into the box and then directly into the mains. My router has assigned an IP Address to the box. I checked the settings in the box and it has 'Internet Enabled' and 'DHCP' checked.

The other one is connected into my Wireless Router and then into the mains.

The issue is temporarily resolved by switching off the router and the box after 3-4 attempts.

I believe that the software on my box is PLI since it says 'About PLI Team' when I go into settings.

Can anyone advise how I can overcome this issue?
Is there anything else I can do before I take it back to my local dealer.

    Thanks in advance,

Have you tried hard-wiring direct into your router? It's the first thing I would try.

I have a V8 with PLi Jade 3 and it works perfectly using powerline adaptors.

Could be a server issue or even your router/ modem

i had major issues with last lot i had, 20 boxes, 8 faulty, build was different, moved to blade 500 now, still get issues, but at least i can return.

have you tried flash erase file and then try different image, managed to fix 2 of the 8 faulty i had, so only took a ?240 hit.

and are you using virgins new super hub?

            Hi,

Thank you all for your assistance,

I haven't yet put a different image on but I will get in touch with the person who configured the box to see if he can put a different image on for me.

I have just turned on the box now and so far the premium channels are operating ok along with FTA channels.

Its difficult for me to connect using an ethernet cable directly since the PC is in akward place so I have to rely on powerline ethernet adapters. The led's on the adapters are all green.

I've pinged google via its address and IP from the PC the ADSL Modem/Router is connected to and all seems fine according to the result:

I've also pinged the box by running CMD on PC and there was 0% packet loss. So it seems that it may not be an issue with the internet connection or the router.

I tried wifi on my phone and the router automatically assigned an IP and I was able to download a game on my phone.

So i guess it could be the server as DW190 stated.
