    dm 500

    i got a dm500 and i can get it to flash with dream up its not detecting it is there any more ways that u can flash it cheers danny

      Are you using a null modem cable?
      Pc or laptyop? Operatinging system?
      What version of Dreamup?
      Keep trying it will get there in the end.
      Most use 1.3.3.4 and better on desktop pc with xp.

          iam using windows 7 and used various dream ups and yeah null cable being used just not playing ball used cable with xp too and no joy

              If you have another Dm try and get a ping with that one then swap the dodgy dm so you can flash it.
              This works with dodgy dm 800s with No Ca Found.
              Thats if it makes sense and you have another dm.
              Ive had similar prob in the past and just persiveered.
              I use null modem with ethernet to get it to work when ive had trouble.

                  i got it going by changing the name of the file to root.cramfs and droping it in the temp folder and it works a treat thanx for helping me mate

                      hey apologies if this post is on numerous threads, just trying to get a solution....

                      ...i'm also having problems with dreamup, its definitly not a null modem problem as i've tried it on a proper pc with serial port and it works fine.

                      but i only have a laptop so i use a usb to serial, the laptop recognises it, drivers successfully installed, but dreamup wont make the connection.

                      i've used as many versions of dreamup as possible but still no joy.

                      Anybody have any idea what else i could try?
