need a litle help strange prob :)

Ok guys so i am pretty new to this so a little help will be much appreciated
so here is what the prob is,i went and reloaded the list of satellites with the satellite xml,but something strange happened after the process Eutelsat W2M (16?E)/Eurobird 16A is listed as removed service,the channels are still there but the satellite is listed as removed, strange, the thing is coz the satellite is listed as removed i can't do automatic transponder scan as the satellite is not on the list.
Anyone has come up to something like this,i need advise on how to fix this.

Happened to me when i updated the sat.xml only last week.

I found that by reinstalling an older xml it came back after reboot. Pain in the ass had to scan the sat again but all good now.

This happens when satellite.xml does not match the channels settings on your dreambox i.e your channel settings may have the sat as 28.5 and the satellite.xml might have it configured as 28.2 so it assumes that your channel settings are wrong and removes them from the dreambox.

ok so how do i fix this,how do i make the satellite appear again coz i cant do auto transponder scan with out the satellite listed

you could do a factory reset ,that will revert all the box settings back to their default settings . what will happen is the image will stay on the box and the box will revert to installation stage ,this is simply where you choose tv type ,choose language ,set the time and date ,set diseqc settings and then choose a satellite to scan . the satellite your missing should then be back but you will need to reinstall cccam or what ever cam,s you were using and reset any parental settings you may have had . i suggest either saving your cam config files on your pc then you can simply ftp them back in to the box or when your box is setup and working as you want it make a backup copy of the image .a backup copy will include your cams/configs etc then should you ever have a problem with your box you can simply reflash the box with your backup image .
