    Dreambox 500S on fire

Last week I ordered a new Dreambox 500-S from dreambox800.co.uk. This arrived today from China via DHL. The Dreambox came with a 100-240V to 12V transformer which I connected up, but after turning on the power, it caught fire right under my TV. Obviously this Dreambox is totally fu**ed now, but even if I got a new one I couldn't trust it.

If this is a one-off then surely the odds of sure an event are 1 in 1,000,000? Is there a different brand I could use, or something else instead of Dreambox.

unlucky. Never had that problem thank god. Could always go with Vu+ receiver or a genuine Dreambox instead of a clone but these are going to cost much more than a Dreambox 500s clone.

I assume all the Dreambox clones are made by the same chinese factory? If so, then I don't think I would like to risk using another one. The genuine dreamboxes and Vu+ boxes are a little too expensive for my budget. Anything under ?100 is great. I'm not bothered about recording or HD.

I have come across a website called Sat-Shop which appears to be UK based and have a very good range of products. Has anyone heard of these, are they decent? Below are the products which are within my budget. From what I have read they all have CS/CCCAM functionality. Which would you recommend?

        1 - Spiderbox SD 5000 1CA USB-PVR + ETHERNET Satellite Receiver
        2 - HDTVHD V8 800S2 Digital Satellite Receiver
        3 - Openbox S10 HD Satellite Receiver
4 - GGG HD USB PVR ETHERNET Satellite Receiver
5 - Metabox CXCI 1CA 2CI PVR Ready HD Digital Satellite Receiver
        6 - Spiderbox SD 5000 1CA USB-PVR + ETHERNET Satellite Receiver

The HDTVHD V8 seems the best value as this has HD and PVR for ?85.

Sat-shop are top notch. I have bought the GGG HD box and Technomate TM5402. I have had no problems with them and would highly recommend them. I went there (Leicester) and paid cash. I even have one of the guys mobile phone numbers, so if I have any problems I can call him direct. Also they have a pretty decent support forum, and NO I am not affiliated with them in anyway
