        i have a DM500 and there has never been a problem before, but now when i start my box, there is a bockground "the GP" and nothing is working i cannot see the channels and and when i want to setup they want a pin code

                Its asking for a pin code so he is using a box supplied by someone else with a sea lion already loaded. Flashing a new image will not help but contacting the person who supplied the box might sort out his problem.

                  But they only want a pin code when i want to setup. Are you sure that it will not work to flash a new image?

                      flashing a new image will stop it asking for a pin code but you would need to get a new "bit of magic" to get anything more than free to air channels, because that will wipe along with the pincode

                      Edit

                      then as long as you can get your "sea lion" again flash it to remove pin

                        I cannot use that cable because i dont hane that socket in my computer. Is it possible to use another cable?

                          u can use telnet to flash ur box or use a usb/serial adaptor
