DM 500S network setup: port 80

I wanted to test a small server with a friend. Set my DM to fixed ip. Port 12000 opened on Livebox. But Friend cannot connect to server. Change router to Huawei,my friend can connect. Testing open port with TPFportchecker indicates port open on Huawei not on Livebox.
I used the DM network setup for both
    Network enabled /port 80

I tried livebox again but change port to 12000. TPFportchecker indicates port open on DM500s.
My question is: should I change the port number to 12000?I tried this but...
When I reboot DM change is not saved , it reverts to port 80.

yes you need to save port 12000 on your dreambox and it should stick after a reboot

thats a diff port mate, leave that at 80.

Your referring to a listening port for the likes of cccam.

You open that port on your router and assign that to the ip of your box.

you must tell the box in the cccam config to use post 12000

Thank you for answer...so the Livebox is not really opening the port though it tells it's opened.

          never used one before.

          guide here

Just make sure you set a static ip on box and assign that ip to that port on livebox.

Thanks for the link. I did all these things. Port 12000 is shown as open/active on the livebox interface but won't let incoming connection thru. With the other router I followed same procedure but here it is successful. I even removed livebox firewall....but to no avail.

the default listening port on cfg file is 12000, this also must be set in the dreambox. generally its best to set your own port e.g
                my port is 15559
1>this port 15559 must be then set up in port forward
2>the port number 15559 is assigned in your dm500
3>you must remove the # from the default listening port in cfg and insert 15559 if it was that port you were to use
If you use the 12000 default listening port then that needs to be entered and saved on the dreambox, as far as i am aware this is correct and is how i set my dm500 up as a server.

you say if you change port on dm500 it wont stick.
so the port on dm500 is 80, try setting cfg file listening port to 80 instead of 12000 (remember to remove the # at beginning of line) and also portforward to 80.
failing that try reflashing image so the designated port on dm500 you choose will stick.

Port 80 on Dm has nothing to do with c/s server settings. Its a FTP port I think. 12000 is default for cccam. So assign 12000 open to the Dm IP address in your router settings
The only places you need to enter or alter ports is in router and cccam config

when i set mine up i used piopats guide
"you will need to set the port in the server box communication setup to 12000 (you only do this for the serverbox),if there is a problem you will need to go back and check your dyndns settings and that the updater is working and that the port is in fact open .i would check my cables also ethernet cables etc"

I assumed by the server box he meant the dm500 which is why I changed my port setting in there.Oh well i know for next time its not needed.
