i bought one of these got it working lovely and used one of those test for free clines to make sure i'd not messed it up and all was good. i was so pleased with myself that i'd done it. but the very next morning every channel said no signal found and the box froze. got it back on eventually did a factory reset and tried to flash new image but all i got was " waiting for acknowledgement ". gave up with this and carried on with my first image and now it will not let me scan for channels. just keeps saying no transponder signal found on astra/eurobird28.e. not sure this sat is worth all this aggro i've been sat looking at posts on here and googled my little brains til they were frazzled but i cannot get anywhere with it.

i open up dreamup v2009 patched and it defaults to port com12 ( this is my only option here ) i then connect and turn on the dreambox and it says uploading flashloader followed by upload complete, waiting for acknowledgement. left this overnight once still nothing. -

i am m8 yeah i got one of those null modem adaptors as my pc does not have the connection. i flashed it first on my friends pc. the image i used initially was darkstar2 but after a lot of reading pli jade seemed to be the most popular but cannot flash it. also confused why it no longer finds any transponder signal? everything is connected as it should be and my dish is still there. i got an old s+y dish on the wall.Comment

Have you got the drivers for your adapter installed on your pc,did it come with a disc with the drivers on?
If so install them and try a different com port if it allows you.

yeah pretty sure the drivers are installed or else i wouldnt be able to connect but i do remember that when i first flashed the box it was port one that i used but now i only have port 12 as an option. gonna take it back to my mates for a reflash see if it will work there. i have read some threads that say the adapters are not that good. i'll try anything to get it going.Comment

not sure how to do that m8. i tried googling it but came up with few answers. i did however come across a flashwizard tutorial so thought i'd give that a go but even that is proving fruitless it just keeps telling me its unable to connect to address check connection parameters. the ip on my box is different though it is 10 . 0. 0. 97. so far this has been the most frustrating ?50 i've ever invested.Comment

alrite fella i had a similar problem on a DM800, i opened the box up noticed it wasnt slotted in properly, took it out wiped the contacts, slotted back in a hey presto!
ps, bear in mind your "test for free clines" will more thank likely work only for 24hrsComment

oh yeah i'm well aware that is gone now. tbh i just want to get it working now so i can get rid it's thoroughly done my tree in in the fortnight i,ve had it. least i got my sv7 to keep me going.Comment

tried that and it never worked i just keep getting the flash loader uploading message as soon as i turn the dreambox on. and flashwizard won't do it either. guess it's a doorstop now sigh.Comment
