DM 500 box pin

Hi,

I bought a Dream Box 500 and some TP had entered a 4 digit PIN. Now my box isn't working i.e. the image/channel aren't coming through and i dont know how to reset it.

I've tried typing a number of factory resetting numbers. I've tried via FTP username 'root' and password has been hidden from me i assumed it was dreambox but that doesn't seem to work!

I've bought one of those 9 pin cables connected it to the box and router and briefly it does connect then it mentions something about peer status error and i dont know what that means.

All i want to to do is try to un-do the hidden password so that i can watch my channels on the DM Box.

Any advice or approach that i should take?

Speak to the person from whom you brought the box, it looks like he has disconnected you from his server.

Isn't there any other way around it? Am not in touch with the person that i bought it from i.e. its been a while.

What do you suggest i simply buy another box given that this may come to dead-end? I mean, am not sure what else i could try.
