help!! 3g netgear router wont connect to dm500s showing network not ok

hi again i have gone back to home pc wireless card connected to 3g router with auto obtain ip settings from router. the dm500 is connected to router via lan port 1 on router

i have typed ipconfig/all hit enter

none of the ips are ending in 100 or 101ipconfig.jpg

I think the .100 and .101 are the static ip addresses Davvo wants you to use as when you go with Dhcp enabled you often get ip conflicts with so many wireless appliances.
Always better using a bigger number at the end of an ip address if that makes sense as the router ends in 0.1 so having the Dreambox as 0.101 is better.

the pc is given an ip from the router auto shall i give my pc a higher static ip aswell..

no thats the ip usb dongles normally give out they start from 100
but looking at you pic your getting internet via the usb on 192.168.0.3

so try 192.168.0.4 in dreambox

did you try the ipconfig manual
not auto obtain

i have 2 usb dongles here with router ip at 192.168.2.1
both showing ips that ends in 100


IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.100
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.1

hi davvo.. was wondering which lan cable it is that is needed to connect the dreambox to the router .
is it the lan switch ?
or standrard lan cable?
why do i have to manually enter the ip settings with this router where as the last virmin router just connectd

Hi Bigonitc - I have just solved the same issue with my Dreambox. Got it a couple of days ago and all was well until I tried to connect to the network. IP and Subnet mask red/Nameserver and gateway green. Nothing wroing with the IP address settings.

After hours of trawling the net, there seemed to be a question mark over the Gemini image. I reflashed my box with PLi=JadeMaxvar and guess what?

All is now working

standard Ethernet RJ45

is it the lan switch ?
are you using a Ethernet switch ?

why do i have to manually enter the ip settings
normally you dont have to
but if your having problems getting the network setup
then try it manually

Hi Davvo. thanks for the info.
i have tried different methods have used switch then standard RJ45 through the router, direct to pc lan still no joy.

have reflashed with PLi=JadeMaxvar as actu_8 has done but still nothing.

again allows downloads but wont use cccam when i check info it tells me connected but no active clients!! however the lines are live and do work.

have tried 2 different dongles but same provider for service.
all being well ill have my broadband back in a week engineers have sent a date for installation now..
but this may have been ok to use in the mean time, has caused me kaos..
may put it down to service provider/router, have flashed router ASWELL now thats up to date and allowed me to use another dongle aswell but with no real diff
service provider is giffgaff (uk o2)
anyone with advice pleaseb

so you have got downloads via addons ?
that means you have a connection
but no active clients with cccam
you need to open the port cccam is using default is 12000
and forward it to the dreambox ip

hi there mate i sympathise with you ive had the exact same problems i went with the marwensat 2.2 image got it working no probs i personally think its the gemini images as i was connected with the gemini image but got no cam addons to download it read cccam 0 entries but would download picons etc so i was connected but always got 2 red 2 green i gave up used pli that worked ok as did marwensat 2.2 and 2.3 but still have never got any gemini image to work.

i also used a static ip ports were all done etc etc and nowt.
come on gemini work you c*nt.


good luck with it if you do work it out will you pm me as i hate comp shit beating me.
but believe me ive been there for weeks now with no joy.

also have issues with vlc player cas getting smurff effect i think its called got it sorted changins overlay and output to open gt.
but when i open web tv through web browser i only gett coloured lines up and down with about 5 cm of pic at one side.
thats also driving me daft.
so any pointers appreciated with any of them there problems.
