Im on old starview 4 user and have recently taken the plunge by buying a dreambox.
The DM500S box has a TDW image and has CCcam installed by the seller on it.
It seems to have a handfull of free channels which isnt what I want.
Ive been reading and reading threads but am no wiser on how to set the box up. I need to know what image etc is best to use.

Image choice is a personal thing, i like some, whilst my lil bro hates the ones i like!

check the downloads section, thats your first stop.
get some guides for your box downloaded, and get reading.

We all had to make the jump to sat, and its deffo worth the effort. But its one of those things, the more you put in, the more you get out..

Good luck with the guides, give em a good read over a cuppa, and in a short while, youll know what options you have, be it for free channels or images.

you should have more than a few free to air channels you should have a few hundred free to air channels on astra/eurobird 28.2 east ,you could pop an up todate satellite.xml file into var/etc in the box and that will give you all available frequencies and channels .

i bought a dm500s with tdw image and cccam already loaded.just added my cline and had all channels on,tdw image is very good,i have had no problems at allwith it,and would recommend it. epg is only now and next.
