I can only pick up the Astra satelite

HI,

I have a dm500s from China so possibly a clone. I have flashed the digital kaos image.

When i run a scan it only picks up a few fta channels (80) most are duplicated i.e. itv1 (west), itv1 north etc. I dont even get bbc1, bbc2 etc

It will not detect any other satelites except Astra. I cant get a lock on any others.

I have 2 cables coming in from the dish, i have tried both.

I dont have a subscription to sky and am unable to reach dish to adjust.

Some advice would be greatfully received

I am having a similar problem too. I have aimed it at ASTRA2abd. There are a few more channels but iti is still limited.

I feel I am missing a trick, do you have to select a transponder or something?

Any help would be appreciated

what channels do you want..?

If your satellite dish is aimed at 28E you will only pick up channels from Eurobird 1 @ 28.5E and Astra 2A/B/C/D @ 28.2E

All these channels are encrypted, apart from the Freesat channels, BBC ITV etc..

If you are after receiving Sky channels on your Dreambox you have wasted your money, they are encrypted and will remain as the encryption (NDS) is unhacked..

You will need an oficial subscription or a cardshare.. The latter requires complex computer programing knowledge of linux, not for a basic entrant, even longtime users of patchable boxes find linux programing rock hard

do you have a motor or is it just on a mini dish also if you want to go down the share road google it

if you have a motorised dish you need to pick a satelite and a transponder then rotate dish try devilfish thread posted on here good luck

before u do the scan go in to sat config change the satellite you are working on to Astra 28E and do a scan.
But even then u`ll only be able to watch fta channels to get the rest u`ll have to be cardsharing or have a valid subscribtion.

you say you have 2 cables from dish are they connected t 1 lnb , it sounds like you might be on wrong satelite try scan on astra 19.2 mate and change transponder to a vertical 27500 and scan good luck mate
