    swapping dm500 tuners

ok guys im thinkin about changing the tuner in dm500 which is a cable tuner into a satellite tuner

apart from a sat tuner, what other componants will i need ie capasitors, resistors, diodes etc etc
is this gonna be feasable or will it be simplier and easier to either get an dm500s mobo and tuner or get another dm500s

    tia...

it can be done but like smirnoff said it not worth it when you take into consideration of the price of the tuner and work invloved. you can use the dm500c as a server though.

check the tuner, more than likely they are different as there were so many chinese manufacturers making them
count the pins, if they have the same number it prob will work
but a new box is really cheap

There is more to it than just swapping the tuner you would have to add other chips, etc so it could power the lnd, switch, etc
so basically no its not worth the effort or expense as you can get a dm500s for around ?50 which would work out cheaper than doing all the above work to a dm500c
