It might have went read only.

Download the cfg from the blue button and it will overwrite it.

The just add the cline again.

Failing that you could try delete it with telnet then ftp a cfg file again.

Or at worst factory rest and start again.

I am not sure if this is right or not but if you are editing /etc/CCcam.cfg it will not edit, it needs to be /var/etc/CCcam.cfg.

I can't remember if that is a 500 or not but something is ringing a bell.
Someone else will comment on that.

Can access ccam.cfg through etc or var/etc so dont think it makes a big difference, all i do is right click and view or edit.

            thanks guys

i think i will erase it completely and start again heheeh

i am in the var/etc folder

if it wipes it tho and wont allow me to put it back then im stuffed and family will be on the blowa to me hehehe

oh well they will have to wait heheh

if all esle fails ill wipe the box n do a fresh install.

ccam 2.1.4 i have on there

what lines do i exactly need in the main sever cccam.cfg file as ther eis lots in there and im not sure what i exactly need.
i know its all hashed out
but would be nice to get shut n just have in there whats important

thanks for the good fast replies guys

              Check the attributes then

You need to open a telnet session and use "ls -l" to see the attributes, it may have been set read only.

FTP is much easier than telnet anyway.

Edit it using vi over a telnet session. It doesn't get anymore basic than that and if that doesn't work then I have no idea what is wrong. You could also copy it then edit the copy, delete the original and rename the copy.

You may find FTP easier but it is not as reliable and has a lot more layers of software, telnet and vi is as basic as it gets.

If you download the whole config again from the blue button, it will remove and overwrite the old one. The edit the file and add your details again.

If this fails to work then you are better doing a factory reset.

why not right click > attributes > change chmod to 755
                          that should then allow read+write

come to edit it last night and it will not let me
                              right clicked it
                              attributes are set to 644
so i click 755 and OK
i click refresh in DCC and then check the attributes again, gone back to 644 !!!!!

any ideas why its doing that guys ?
