    dm500s help, realy puzzler for me ?

    Hi All,

    Fingers crossed someone with a little more knowhow than me may be able to help on this one.

    I still have a 500s (Clone) running, it was running PLI Jade 3 and was spot on until I decided to have a play. I fancied an image change so grabbed some old gemini image - pre any clone issues to try. Before changing, I backed up my image via dream up. Put's on the new gemini image, hangs at GP logo. Reflashed with dream up, same. (using rs232) put's back on the backup, works fine. Tried then nabilo ds2 and v0.8. Same thing, hangs at logo splash screen. Put's back on backup pli, works fine. One last time with a new open pli daily update, hangs on logo......
    Absolutely beat me at the moment, so I had to revert back to the initial pli jade backup....thank goodness I made a backup as it is the only image that will boot up.

    My rs232 is fine, using a working dreamup as it works with another dm500s, have tried a different version of dream up and it gives user abort error (clone issue??)

    Really can't get my head around why any other image will not boot and why I'm stuck with the pli jade.

    Ant suggestions would be much appreciated.

      Have you tried using Flash erase on dreamup then flash with new image? I use open PLi, nice image.

          other thing to remember is that you must use a clone image.... originals will not work, also the image you try must be compatible with the loader you have. I have chamged my jade image to openpli with no problems other people have used other images so it must be an image problem in your case.......

              Tried all combinations that I can think of? Flash erase first, straight flash etc. I tried the open pli image straight from the pli website, so assumed it is ok?? The others though I had saved locally. I will try one from here that is marked clone safe and feedback.

                  success with a clone image from the site.... nab DS2 ! School boy error, when downloading the image, I just happened to see that the images I had been trying were for my very first legit dm500s..... Thanks for the help, job done
