    stuck on green light problem

    guys, sorry for being annoying but ive got 1 more question..
    ive bought a dreambox 500s which is stuck on the green light, i think this needs a flash with a new image so ive got everything except for a null modem cable?
    is there a way i can use a ethernet cable? but i dont know the dreambox's ip?
    any one please help

    It is unlikely to have an IP, the only thing you can try is serial and if that doesn't work it is a jtag job.

      sorry but am a complete noob , so what is the ip then? and serial cable is that a null modem cable ? is there any way of using ethernet?

        yes you can use Ethernet try dreambox control center on my siggy it will search for your ip , but if that don't work yes a null modem cable is the same

            cant understand why you buy a faulty box when you are a complete n00b. Surely it makes sense to buy a working box, get the feel of things and when you are confident maybe buy a cheap faulty one to try and fix

              i bought it faulty becasue it was cheap and i am skint LOL
              well ive got quite a few problems
              need a null modem cable and its sorted but is there anyway of fixing it with a ethernet cable?
