no ethernet connection :S

hi guys well my BIG problem is that my dreambox 500s is not recognisnig my dreambox 500s nor is the ethernet light on my router turning on?
can any 1 please help!!!

I assume you have your dm500s diectly connected to your router with an ethernet cable? is cable good? does the ethernet lights come on at back of dm500s? does dm500s boot up at all? if so what is in the system setup regarding ethernet config? Give us a bit more info matey. You said your dm500s is not recognising your dm500s? I see it was late when u posted so tiredness probably. Give us a bit more to go on. Cheers

If your dbox is older than one year maybe you have to change the capacitors near the lan chip.

hi, yea i was knackered been working on my dreambox since yesterday, well heres my problem,
i just flashed by dreambox 500s 3 times to nabilo darkstar, and my dreambox isnt picking any internet connection up? and yes its connected via a new ethernet cable straiight to the router?
any suggestions?

Have you enabled & setup the network in the menu ?
What message are you getting when you select network test ?

yes i have, the ip of the dreambox is 192.168.0.0 strange ??? and i have ticked dhcp also but still nothing on the router as the ethernet light doesnt light up?

Disable dhcp & try changing 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.X

X being any other free number on your local network.

no this didnt :S every time i do that, i reboot and it just goes back to 192.168.0.0 ??? nad the ethernet light doesnt come up
