    help with dreambox 518s???

    hi guys, can you cccam with dreambox 518s?
    if yes is the same way as dreambox 500s?

              same as 500s m8,i have had one and worked totally same as 500s,the only difference is the model number 518s..

                  thanks, but ive read in mmany other forums that it doesnt read a card?
                  when you cccam with that do you need to put the s*y card in or not? sorry for the nube answer :S

                      518s has internal power supply and does not have scart socket. I would say avoid the 518s they are rubbish.
                      If the internal PSU board fails, it's not easy to locate a replacment. Power supply failure is probbaly one of the most common failures on STB's
                      So get a 500S instead at least the PSU is external easy to get a repalcment off fleebay etc if it fails.
                      A 518s should still read a card ok, You only need a card if you want to share that card out, or if you have a subbed card which you want to use with the box. If your getting your channels via CS for another source you dont need a card.

                          Hiya mate.

                          518s does NOT have a card reader. you can only use CCcam as a client or to reshare. The 528s is the same. internal PSU and no card reader. the DM500s has the card reader.

                          how do i know? i have one!
