Pointers for a noob please dm500s

Ok bought an openbox s10 a few weeks ago and now have got myself hooked.
So rather than jump in at the deep end i have just bought a dm500s blackbox(A clone dm500s).Ive bought this just to see what it and myself are capable of.
Can someone suggest a good image to start of with and an Idiots guide to start me off.
The box wont be here till later in the week.Ive also ordered a null modem cable just in case.
Hopefully i will be able to get on with it and then maybe get a bigger and better box in the new year.
The biggest problem i have at the moment is what image to use and where to get it.(Noob images are us dont exist )
I havnt used Linux for a few years but just installed it on an old pc in the bedroom so i can get to grips with it.

just use the pli image m8 its a good starter image . its in downloads

hi mate as smirnof says pli is good also i have a good nabilo maxvar v8 image you can use if you want it you can download it from link number 4 of my signature area ,theres lots of other stuff in there that may be usefull to you such as dream control center .
