password for dm500

Hi Guys
im helping a friend with his dm500 and somebody has changed the password from root dreambox to something else any ideas on how i can sort this out ?
he wants to change his c line but with out the password we are stuck ?
we have tried to re flash the box but just asks for pw any ideas?

If not tryed to reflash the box yet , ive done 100's of these boxes but the passwords have always been the same , so i was just gonna ftp the new cline into it ,
so if i factory reset then re flash the box it should be ok , im using flash wizard pro
