    500s setup help

    Hi All,

Just purchased a Dreambox 500s and require some advice please. I currently have a SKY dish and have connected the 500s and performed a scan using 39=28.2E Astra2abd 11307/27500 V.

It found loads of channels but most are unavailable including FTA, so I think I'm missing something.

    Current image/software: -

    V.1.0 - 04/06/08

I have read loads of threads regarding various add ons, keys, xml files and I'm a bit confused at the mo.

Could someone please clarify the setup process for me.

    Thanks

You are not going to get anything from Astra @ 28 East on a Dreambox using Keys, The only channels you will get are the Freesat ones and you need not have bought a Dreambox for that a 20 quid reciever of the highstreet would have got those for you.

If you want a propper Satellite Service Buy a Bigger Satellite Dish 80cm or bigger & a Motor and then we can help you to pick up channels from all across Europe.

As I have said in the past a Sky Minidish will pick up more Birdshit than Channels, Throw it away.

Hi, Thanks for the advice. I have a sky subscription and have managed to get the box to read my SKY card by uploading CCam, (I'm at work at the mo and can't remember the exact version) and this is reading my sky card fine.

The problem I have is that I still want to keep my sky box and subscription, but have to keep swapping the SKy card in and out of the Dreambox and Sky box. Is there another way. From many of the posts it looks like I will need two dreambox's and cardshare my Sky subscription between the box's?? unless there is another way. Cheers

Ok, not looked into getting a new dish with motor at all, as I'm quite happy to keep sky subscription and use with Dreambox. Although getting loads of channels from accross europe is tempting. I will have a look into it and see how much it'l cost to a dish with motor.

          Cheers
