    Connecting over network

Hi, I'm a noob to this but have been doing loads of reading and searching and are just about there, but struggling at getting two boxes to communicate with each other over the internet.

I've got them both running the same image and cccam, I've set up a dyndns account, have set up the c and f lines, and have forwarded the right port on my router however the 2nd box is only showing FTA.

I tried the boxes on my local network and managed to get them working so I know I'm ok with the lines but just can't do it outside of my own network.

Have I missed something really obvious or can anyone offer any advice?

    Thank you

surely each box would have to have its own dyndns account ?

thats what its sounds like to me , as each box would have to log its own isp ip with the dyndns account it is associated with

In the box that is sharing I've set the F line up and this is the box that has a dyndns account and port forwarding associated with it. The 2nd box has the c line in and I thought that this was all this needed, as this will be the one communicating with the host.

Like I said though, I am a noob so although this makes sense to me it might not to anyone else!!

you will only have one box working from your host,to get two working you will need a new dyndns account for the second box..

the host box has the dyndns account and opens the port and sends the F line when cccam or oscam is active , if the port has been forwarded correctly

the secondary box doesnt need its own host unless its sending F lines , but needs the host dyndns account in its C line so it knows where to look for its feed

so check the secondary box has the correct hostname , port , name and password in its c line

and check the host dreambox is opening the router port when your cccam or oscam is active , using canyouseeme to check the port is actually open in order for the F lines to pass to dyndns

The cline is ok and the port is forwarded to the right ip. I'm wondering if I may actually have a faulty box and that is the reason I can't view any channels. Three times now (with different images) it has hung on the first screen when booting up.

That is the problem with being new, you don't know what is normal or not!

cant say about clones but my original 800 works fine and opens the port when you start the emu

if you check the port at canyouseeme it should be showing as open if your cccam or oscam is decoding the card and sending it out using the f line , towards the host server dyndns
also check your internet ISP ip matches the one showing at dyndns so you know the host account has the correct ip from your modem or router

the second box doesnt need a dyndns or no-ip account unless it is also sending f lines , as any box can receive without having a host like dyndns

so check the dyndns has your host ip logged correctly , and check if the port is open , if it isnt then its the host box or router at fault as nothing will get past a closed port

              good luck

Checked on doyouseeme and getting connection refused. Presuming this dreambox refusing due to username/password not correct.

                  presuming wrong then

its refusing due to the fact the port isnt opened by your emu , causing the problem you posted about , which is what I always suspected once I realised the second box had no F lines

if you have a torrent client , check the torrent port(s) opens when you start the program on your pc or lappy , and closes when you shutdown the program

the same thing applies to the dreambox , it opens the port when the emu is active , and closes it when its not active

when its open , canyouseeme will say SUCCESS on that port

Success: I can see your service on ##.##.###.## on port (12000).

I've got an F-Line in there created by cccam lines manager so hopefully the server side of things is sorted.

Just need to reflash the client box now as it is stuck on the booting image and I can't connect to it so need to go to the house of a family member whose computer has a com port. At least whilst I'm there I can insert a c line and see if it works.

Thanks for your help so far.

                      Now working fine.

As someone new to it I don't mind doing the reading and trying and trying but in this case I didn't know which part was wrong so it was invaluable to be pointed in the right direction, so thanks again.
