    dm 500s help needed

    hi everyone

    i'm a newbie and not much of a techie

    we've had our dreambox black dm 500s for about 2 years

    it was working fine out of the box (so it's not been hooked up to pc at all during this time) e.g. all the sky TV channels like movies/sport but all of a suddent it's just stopped working

    it stays on "pli jade think green" "radio/mp/file mode" sceen

    tried reboot which hasn't worked

    i can get some radio channels to work up it wont find any sat channels - i really am not sure what do next in order to fix this

    there are various files under bouquets and satellites (e.g. adastra 2a, 3a, 1h, sky germany, mobilink) tabs

    i can't go into setup menu cos i don't know the password

    any advice / help would be really appreciated

      you will have to get the person you got it from to sort it
      if you reflash you will lose the cs

          There is a Radio mode and a TV mode. If you're in Radio mode you will not get any channels. Check that first m8.

                  i'm in TV mode and am able to get all the previous channels albiet in diff folders, however when i select any channel there is no picture :-( despite PLI picking up the signal

                  i've very confused now :-(

                      this gets more confusing

                      i've got all these new folders in satellites, providers (only one BSYKYB) and bouqets

                      some random channels seem to work e.g. movieformen1+, various news channels and bollywood music channels but vast majority of channels is just a black screen despite appearing to have good signals

                      i've tried restarting enigma and rebooting but not made a difference

                      any help will be greatly appreciated
