PROBLEMS WITH DM 500 V8 blank screen when switched on

HI a friend gave me a old dm500 v8 with no power lead , i tryed my own dm 500 lead on it and it lights up but when hooked up to my tv im getting the no signal sighn i thought maybe it could have a bad flash so i tryed to use dream up to flash it and dream up cannot detect it i also tryed flash wizard and cant detect it i have set up a few dm 500s with no problems but this dm500 v8 seems dead any ideas folks could my power lead be the wrong polarity or something its a standard dm 500s lead

Try older version of Dreamup. It will work. I had the same problem.

it's a Dm800V8 they are good quality clones. Use DreamUp 1.3.3.4. newer versions are not clone friendly.

Are you definitely using a null modem serial lead ? Verify you have a known working null modem serial cable.

Sounds like it could be a bootloader issue mate! You will need to Jtag the board and reflash the bootloader. I've had many like that buddy and all were down to the same problem. Cheap chinese clones.
