Help needed

My friend has a dm500s and his channels has stopped working. I know he has probably ran out subscription with his provider ;-)

But he wants me to update it. So my questions are:

1. Is there anyway i can check it to see what image version is on it and whether it needs a new image loaded on it to update it.

2.How would i update image would i use dreamedit or do the ###STOP### mode to update image?

3.Can i update boutiques using browser inside dreambox?

4.How do i put a Nline in cfg?

Any help appreciated i have been looking through the forums the past few days or so and learning new things i just need them questions answering as i seem to be stuck on them. Thx ppl

ok soz about the cs now i know. Anyway what's the best procedure to update a box will the image NEED updating?? If there is a tut that says where the files/botiques etc go in the dreambox folders that would be grand.. thx

if the box came plug and play ready to go from a payserver then the payserver will likely have pin/password locked the box so a reflash will be needed .you will need an image and dreamup ,you can download a good dm500s image called nabilo maxvar v8 and dreamup by clicking on the last link in my signature are .

4.How do i put a Nline in cfg?
the same way you enter a c line you either type it in or copy and paste it in to any free line in cccam.cfg ,if a line contains the old c or n line delete it back as far the line number then type /copy and paste the new line there . then click on file (top left of your dream control center screen and click on save and exit .thats about all i can say on the forum as i dont want to break forum rules .
