Dm 500 wont connect to netgear router

Hi guys after a bit of advice.
My mate has my old Dreambox 500 and was working fine but needed his bouquets updated.
He popped it round to mine and i updated his bouquets no problems,i have a Belkin router and it connected ok with Dhcp.
Now when he took it back home it just wont connect tp his Netgear.
Ive tried static ip and dynamic and no connection yet his laptop and Xbox and iphone connect fine.

Ive brought it back to mine and it connects ok so i reflashed and still the same problems.
No connection no matter how i set his network up.
Ive tried several different ips for the box and made sure nameserver and gateway are the same as the router which is 192.168.1.1
Rebooted modem, router dhcp enabled and disabled and not working.
Weird how it worked before any advice please.
    Also swapped ethernet cables.
    Andy.

If it is a DNS problem Virgin are having stupid problems with their nameservers for the last few weeks, maybe try opendns.

Dpone this several times thought a reflash would cure it as it was working fine before.
        Even tried a different psu.

He is on Virgin but lives half a mile from me.
Do you think using a different nameserver might help rather then using the same ip as the router?

Well for sure my Netgear Vermin router will not serve their DNS at all, neither 192.168.0.1 (it's IP) or 194.168.4.100 or 194.168.8.100 (Vermin's DNS) I have to use other ones to get any Internet at all some of my networked devices, Dreamboxes included.

There are also wireless problems with those Netgears in that sometimes they will not allow connection for some computers irrespective of the computers OS, it seems to be MAC related but I haven't got a fix and neither have Vermin, they sent me a modem only option. They are just basically shite routers.

Last resort m8 but if all else fails get him to do a factory reset on his router, worth a try

                THE TRUTH
                The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Cheers Bulldog ive told him there should be a reset button on it somewhere so hopefully it might do the trick.
Hate it when you know you're doing nothing wrong yet it wont work.

                      Problem solved

Changed the nameserver to 194.168.4.100 which is one of the Nameservers for Virgin.

Instead of using the same ip 192.168.1.1 which is the Netgear routers ip,for the Nameserver, this did the trick.
This must be Virgin messing but least this might help others with crappy Netgear routers in the future.
