      thnx.. I am asking how to start recording. The folder is already mounted and i can reach it from the dreambox.

            hi all. or you could use the timer on the channel you want to record press the red button for the EPG display then press up or down to highlight the program name that you want to record then press the green button. This will take you to the timer settings press the up button till you highlight the switch option then press ok for the drop down options and select record DVR. after this press down to highlight the save or just press the corrosponding colour button the the save i think its red of the top of my head. Hope this helps you out mate and others.

              is there any special programs u need installed ie codecs etc and recommended hard drive size, for rec only

                no there are no codecs to install. NOTHING to install. As for the hdd you can use any size you want. But i recommend at least over 100GB as a 25 minute program can take up to 700mb mabe a little more so and iv had movies take over 3GB for around 1h 40 mins hope this helps im using a WD net-center due to it supporting samba sharing. hope this helps you out more.
