missing SERVICE SEARCHING

I replace tuner on DM500, and after that I dont have SERVICE SEARCHING in MENU.


In Dreambox Info is listed PHILIPS-S as tuner.

where did you get a new tuner and was it easy to replace ? i have a DM500C and it seems that the tuner is crocked.

On the dm500 the tuners are soldered onto the motherboard. I would be inclined to think that you are having problem because it does not recognise the fact that you have swapped tuners.

I fount in old bricked dreambox. I think that is diferent type then it is was in my box. I put ALPS tuner, (in box it was philips). I will try JTAG to change tuner type. Yuo need about 1 hour to replace it. It is solder to board.

i have a dm500-s.

this has the tuner embededd on the mainboard ! it has a metal protection cover that goes over the crystal but thats all thats there!
i do not know if its a clone ( i would think so)! as the tuner cannot be replaced.

i have installed the gemini 4.2.0 image and was working ok for 5 months , then i lost the sattelites ( in green) at the top of my menu.

Now i have flashed the box again and tried the same image but no service searching appears or the sattelitte in menu?

is this a common problem ?
is it a hardware failure ?
or the image ?
i have just tried to install the dk v1.1 but when i reboot i get a black screen ?

all very confusing for someone who knows a bit about pc`s hard & software !

i look forward to hearing from more people with this problem ?

edited this: have just reloaded Gp 420 img again and have just noticed that when i power on & off on the remote, the lights on the dm500 go red & green but the Gp project backgound picture stays displayed on the tv !

Yes, that is problem, GP project background stay when I turn of box. Satellite is missing (green button).

I replace tuner, change tuner model with JTAG. Same problem with ALPS or PHILIPS.
