I use PLii on my DM500 clone and its good.
Pli seem to bring out a new version every few days which is easy to download direct to the DM but I dont really notice much difference.Comment

That's because nothing much has changed since April 2009, when they turned their focus 100% to E2 dev. The only changes to OpenPLi E1 DM500 images have been implementations of UkCvs.org developments into their automated nightly builds, specifically:
TUN support in the kernel so OpenVPN works (Satsearching)
and
UTF-8 special character filtering in RT-EPG (LraiZer)

If you want a clone-safe bang up to date DM500 image with quality EPG, Set My Location, and AutoBouquets, you might want to try neutrino Commando 14.6 from downloads...
