    sure this must have been asked but anyway,,, since a client ip is visible to server, can a land address be traced from your ip ?

    Yes. You can trace the ISP, who will (probably) keep a log of which customer was allocated what IP address for a period of time, but not necessarily what was accessed. Check with your ISP for their policy on what they keep and for how long, and look around for an ISP which is more "user friendly" if you're not happy with their policy.

    But there needs to be a reason for an ISP to release this information to the authorities, in any case.

    Otherwise, investigate the use of proxy servers!

      i was thinking more in terms of someone using a dm500 being traced by a certain company posing as a "dm provider" ?
