connecting box to pc. help!

is it possible to connect the box to laptop direct instead of through router? only my mate has no router to connect to only modem. i want to put c-line on for him but dont know how without router.

use dreambox control centre and tick direct crossover instead of router

so that way it will be just like connecting via router? my mate lives too far for me to go pick box up go home do his box then back again. iwill try that way with my box at home later to see if it works. thanks for the info mate.

set the pc a static ip ie 192.168.1.105
and set static on box 192.168.1.108
