Dm500s recording help

i have a dm500s in the bedroom and its hooked up to the tv via the scart, i dont want to record programmes to the pc so im looking into getting some kind of dvd recorder with hard drive or some other kind of box so i can record stuff from the dm500s and play them back sort of like a sky+ box does, any help would be great thanks

THINK dvd recorders with hdd will only record from dvd to hdd and not av input to hdd.. what you want is something like this

stick a hdd in and record dm to ur hearts content..
these are cracking little boxes, u can record from dm then stream that recording to any device that can handle samba shares

is that just a box that the dm500 can plug into and record straight to the box? does it have a timer option etc

wouldnt know.. just used it as an example of rough sort of price you should be looking to pay and to show you the box i was on about.. samba is a way of sharing files,

my 500 and 800 are connected to lg freeview recorder via the scart inputs.
not all freeview hdd recorders have inputs.

you need to do research on make models that have av or scart inputs
