    Adjusting my satellite

I've heard that my satellite can go out of alignment from time to time, and its good to adjust it. Are there any threads that I can find out the best way to do this (myself - opposed to a technician).

Its a motor dish, and I don't have an oscilloscope to read the signal strength. I do, however, have a laptop and DreamBoxEdit, which gives me a nice picture of my signal strength and quality.

Perhaps I could go out, armed with my laptop and adjust the satellite to produce a better result for both strength and quality?

I checked these two stats, and they're quite high today -

    (28.2 Eurobird)
    Signal Quality: 88.4
    Signal Strength: 90.6

Are these reasonble, in terms of absolute, picture quality terms?

    Thanks,

    Adrian

you will find stickies/tuts at top of this section General Satellite TV those figures look good but sometimes it can depend on your tuner or box type as to results. I got 3 boxes and they all give different results but all on the same dish.

Thanks, I'll check 'em out. Presumably I can tune my own satellite, as I heard no warning bells from the crowds... :-)
