    might of briked my dm500 clone

    hi there,

    i have tried to update my dm500 clone (dm500v8) with OpenPLi-beta-dm500-20120123-240.zip. After putting the file in the tmp directory with FTP. It started erasing flash memory, then upgrading. After it was finished it restarted, but that was it. When it tried to restart, the screen went black, the power led was green but then it did nothing. I could not even switched it off. I had to turn it off manually.
    I can not connect with the dm500 with ftp OR nul modem.

    Have i trashed it? do i have to do a Jtag repair?

          it is not possible to flash it with dreamup, because it cannot connect (it just says connection prepared, now switch on the box).When i turn the DM on, it does not do anyhting. The green light of the DB lights up, but the software does not do anything. I have done it with a null modem cable, but it does not respond. So that is why i ask this question, just te be sure. Or maybe someone has another idea, or had this before who can help.

              its all been coverd loads times
              as above use the search forum section.

                  i just ripped open my null modem cable and there where 2 wires NOT correct. I've redone them, now it connects correctly with dreamup.

                  now going on with the flash procedure...

                      seems like you had an rs232 cable which is identical but as you say wired slightly differently inside..

                          indeed......but it works now, just have to find the correct img file...so i am back to searching

                                  i have the exact same problem with my dm500s v8, ill give that null modem cable a look at, its funny because i have flashed lots of dm500s with no problems but these v8 models seem a little tempermental , im away to hack my cable up and hopefully the 2 wires are not connected, hopefully connect them and flash my v8, ps i got my cable from ebay think it was 4-5 quid delivered
